Eyes are the windows through which you view and perceive the world and all its beauty around you. It is the means of learning about the world, along with
all its multiple components and interesting factors, improving and affecting your opinions about different things, people and locations.
This beautiful and valuable asset deserves to be cared for and maintained to ensure their optimal health, so that you get to enjoy the beauties of nature
and the world around you with great ease and maximum pleasure. A visit to the optometrist might seem incongruous and seemingly meaningless, especially before the start of your journey, but just think about the predicament you might have to face if you were faced with a serious visual hindrance or pain during traveling.
If you have a teen or pre-teen child who wears glasses, chances are you might have had the ‘contact lenses’ discussion with them. Most teens wish to go for
contact lenses due to the obvious benefits over glasses, but is your child ready? As a parent you might be wondering if it is safe for children to wear
contacts. Well, it most certainly is, according to ophthalmologists; the perfect age for a child to start wearing contacts is between 11 and 12.
The reason why contacts give a sharp vision is that they sit directly on the eye, offering a clear view with less distortion. Contacts also give users a perfect peripheral vision, which isn’t the case with glasses. The frames of glasses block certain angles of vision, forcing the wearer to turn their head more often.
Finding out that you are being prescribed glasses or contacts to wear for an unknown period of time can be a nightmare for most people. Caring for glasses
or contacts isn’t easy and for most newly prescribed people, it is unnerving. However, being tested for weak eyes means that you have not really been
looking after your eyes earlier, which got you to this point. Too much exposure to the sun means too much exposure to Ultra Violet (UV) rays. Now you might not feel it happening, but UV rays constantly keep pressurizing and damaging your eyes, the entire time you are in the sun. This increases the chances of weakening your vision, along with the probabilities of developing problems like cataracts and macular degeneration.
When you go to purchase sunglasses, be sure to get the ones, which block 99% to 100% UVA and UVB rays. Sunglasses with wraparound lenses also provide great protections from the sides.
Poor eyesight is not something that you want to experience ever, since it can disrupt your life completely and cause you to miss out on the glorious
wonders of life. Unfortunately there is an extremely high percentage of people living in the United States right now who suffer from low vision problems.
Therefore, it is imperative that you learn the basics of coping with low vision in order to maintain a normal and healthy life.
If you have blurred eye sight or experience problems, such as dizziness when looking at things both near and far away, then it is probably due to low vision.
This problem cannot be corrected with the help of vision therapy, contact lenses or eyeglasses.
